The Tech1-R 1000 is a member of the Tech1-R series of one-piece forged professional racing wheels. It is engineered to give open and closed course off-road racers the ultimate wheel, as it is lighter and tougher than competitive wheels, especially those wheels constructed of cast aluminum.

 The special features and advantages this wheel brings to off-road racers are:

  • Rotary forged from high strength aluminum alloy for a superior strength to weight ratio. This makes it possible to do more with less alloy, making it lighter for improved acceleration, braking, and suspension control.
     
  • Advanced heat-treating gives the alloy a Brinell hardness of 100 vs. 80 for most forged wheels. This gives Tech1-R wheels superior impact and abrasion resistance.
     
  • The forged aluminum alloy in the Tech1-R 1000 is very ductile, so it springs back to shape when it is momentarily deformed by impact. Cast wheels are brittle and can tolerate only minor flexing before they crack or shatter when you need them most.
     
  • The Tech1-R 1000 weighs 28 pounds, 4 pounds less than other forged off-road racing wheels and 10 pounds less than the cast competitors. Removing 16 to 40 pounds of unsprung weight and rotating mass enhances performance measurably.
     
  • The bead-lock ring is forged and very stiff to prevent damage if struck or improperly torqued during tire changes. This stiffer ring makes it possible to utilize fewer retaining bolts for less weight and quicker tire changes.
     
  • The bead-lock bolts are long to allow substantial thread engagement with the wheel long before compressing the tire bead bundle. This eases tire installation and prevents pulled or crossed threads.
     
  • The valve stems are 1/8” NPT to utilize standard tank valves and make plugging the extra port easy when not using liner tires.
  • The lug nut seats are compatible with captured washer (flat) or 90-degree conical seat “NASCAR” type lug nuts. Teams can utilize their preference.
     
  • The clearance around the lug nut bores is large to give pit sockets adequate clearance.
     
  • The rim shell I.D. and spoke clearance are maximized to utilize the largest possible brake package. This gives teams the advantage of running higher capacity brake systems for maximum performance.
